Norway has transposed MiFID (Level 1) by legislation

On 2007-05-29 the Parliment approved the new Act on Securities Trading and the new Act on Regulated Markets and completed transposition of MiFID (Level 1) into national law.

The Ministry of Finance (NO) has on 2007-03-29 published proposed regulations on MiFID (implementing Level 2). Consultations will be carried out until  2007-05-10.

The Norwegian Government Commission (Verdipapirmarkedslovutvalget) published on 2006-02-21 a proposal for a new Act on Securities Trading and a new Act on Regulated Markets (NOU 2006:3 Om markeder for finansielle instrumenter) implementing MIFID Level 1 and the Transparency Directive.
