SSDA publishes a proposal how to classify clients according to obligations imposed on investment firms by MiFID. Comments, that may be delivered directly by clicking “Comments” under the headline, are welcomed by end of January 2007 at the latest. 

SSDA publishes new version of “A short summary of MiFID”

SSDA has published an up-dated short summary of MiFID with some suggestions to member firms regarding important measures when implementing the directive and related national legislation and regulation.

Joint industry response to CESR consultation on L3 work on minimum list of records

LIBA and joint associations, including the Nordic associations, have responded on 2006-11-27 to the CESR MiFID L3 consultation on the list of minimum records in Article 51(3) of the MiFID implementing Directive.

SSDA submits cost calculations on transaction reporting to the FSA (SE)

SSDA has accounted for some cost calculations on transaction reporting in a letter to the FSA dated 2006-10-24. The calculations are not all comprehensive but rather examples from some member firms of the cost estimated for implementation of requirements suggested by the FSA that are superequivalent (i.e. above the basic requirements of MiFID).

CESR adopts MiFID L3 work programme and consults on market transparency and records

CESR adopted on 2006-10-20 its MIFID Level 3 programme, and published two consultation papers relating to MIFID implementation: 
(1) Publication and consolidation of market transparency information with response deadline 2006-12-15 and (2) Minimum list of records with response deadline 2006-11-27. All the documents are accessible via this link

Swedish Governmental Commission report on new agency law
